2015/16 allowed Clinical Commissioning Groups in England the opportunity to apply for Joint Commissioning or Full Delegated responsibility for the commissioning of Primary Care services in the area they serve, as part of NHS England’s ‘Five Year Forward View’.
From 1st April 2016, NHS South Norfolk CCG entered into a ‘Joint Commissioning’ arrangement with NHS England’s Midlands and East Area Team. Joint commissioning arrangements give CCGs and NHS England an opportunity to more effectively plan and improve the provision of out of hospital services for the benefit of patients and local populations.
Part of these arrangements is the formation of a Joint Committee, which will meet in public every other month to discuss the joint commissioning of primary care services in the South Norfolk area.
